
Adam Sullivan
President and Chief Executive Officer
Adam Sullivan has served on our board of directors since January 23, 2024. Mr. Sullivan has served as our President since May 15, 2023. The Board of Directors appointed Mr. Sullivan to serve as Chief Executive Officer, effective as of August 2, 2023. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Sullivan joined XMS Capital Partners (a financial advisory firm) in 2017 where he served as Managing Director and Head of Digital Assets and Infrastructure Group, where he oversaw over $5 billion of transactions. While employed at XMS Capital Partners, Mr. Sullivan represented Power and Digital Infrastructure Acquisition Corporation in its acquisition of Legacy Core in 2021. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics from the University of Rochester.
Jim Nygaard
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
James P. Nygaard, Jr., age 50, brings nearly 30 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience to Core Scientific. Since 2008, he has served as a Managing Director at XMS Capital Partners, LLC, leading M&A execution activities, strategic financings, and chairing the firm’s Fairness Committee. From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Nygaard served as Chief Financial Officer of Power & Digital Infrastructure Acquisition Corp. (XPDI), which merged with Core Scientific. Prior to XMS Capital, Mr. Nygaard spent 12 years in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division, advising a diverse group of clients across a variety of industries. His career deal experience includes over $100 billion of strategic transactions and financings. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, he was valedictorian of his department and received Bronze Tablet Honors, the university’s highest academic distinction.

Matt Brown
Chief Operating Officer
Matt has over 15 years experience working in operations and engineering management. He has a strong background in infrastructure strategy and management, site engineering and data center operations.
Previously Matt was at Equinix, where he was the Senior Director – Americas IBX Operations. While at Equinix, he was responsible for 200 data centers, 380,000 cabinets and 1,000MW of critical infrastructure. Prior to Equinix, Matt spent 12 years at Hewlett Packard where he was responsible for end-to-end data center infrastructure services. Matt started his career at with the US Army as a Tactical Node Center Switch Supervisor. Matt holds a BS in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M – Commerce and an AAS in Information Technology from Central Texas College.

Scott Brueggeman
Chief Marketing Officer
Scott Brueggeman has more than 20 years in digital infrastructure and technology businesses. Previously, Scott spent five years as Chief Marketing & Sales Officer at Logix Fiber Networks where he led a team of 60+ employees across marketing and sales and drove a 50% increase in sales productivity.
Prior to that, he ran global marketing and inside sales for CyrusOne, a $11 billion market cap REIT, that IPO’d and more than tripled its revenue growth during his 5-year tenure. Scott also assisted in three strategic acquisitions with a combined value of over $1 Billion. Before CyrusOne, he directed marketing and inside sales at CoreLink Data Centers (acquired by Zayo), led marketing at CareerBuilder, and worked in several divisions at AT&T.
Scott holds an MBA from the Kellogg at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

Russel Cann
Chief Development Officer
Russell Cann has 21 years of experience designing, building, and growing large scale technology infrastructure companies. Prior to Core Scientific, Russell grew and developed a blockchain and cryptocurrency mining business as well as several other network infrastructure concerns. Previously he worked for Accenture in the areas of fintech and risk management on projects in Europe and the Americas.
An active Philanthropist, Russell is a Trustee for the National Foundation of the Boy Scouts of America and Alston Wilkes Society. Further he volunteers with Sue Kuhlen Camp for Kids and Lion’s Club. He is an active member of YPO and graduated cum laude from the South Carolina Honors College and the Moore School of Business.

Todd Duchene
Chief Legal and Administrative Officer
Todd DuChene has been our Corporate Secretary since April 1, 2019. Since May 2023 he has served as our Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary. Prior to that, from November 2022 to May 2023, he served as our President and Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary, and, from January 2022 to November 2022, he served as EVP, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Mr. DuChene also served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Legacy Core from April 2019 until January 2022. Prior to joining Core, Mr. DuChene served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer for FLIR Systems, Inc., an industrial and military technology company, from September 2014 to April 2019. Prior to joining FLIR, Mr. DuChene served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Nuance Communications, Inc., a leading provider of speech recognition and related technology to enterprise, healthcare and mobile and consumer customers from October 2011 to September 2014. Previously, Mr. DuChene served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of National Semiconductor Corporation from January 2008 to October 2011, prior to its acquisition by Texas Instruments Inc. In addition, Mr. DuChene has served as General Counsel to each of Solectron Corporation, Fisher Scientific International Inc. (now ThermoFisher Scientific) and OfficeMax, Inc. Mr. DuChene began his legal career as an associate with BakerHostetler (a law firm) in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. Mr. DuChene holds a B.A. in Political Science from The College of Wooster and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Sean Kimble
Chief Human Resources Officer
Sean Kimble is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Core Scientific, leading the company’s people strategy to support its rapid growth and evolving business needs. With over 30 years of experience in human resources leadership, Sean specializes in talent development, organizational transformation, and employee engagement.
Before joining Core Scientific, Sean served as Vice President of Human Resources at USA Compression (NYSE: USAC), where he was a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team. He played a key role in shaping executive compensation, talent management, succession planning, and leadership development. His expertise was instrumental in the company’s $1.8 billion acquisition of a competitor in 2018.
Prior to USA Compression, Sean led HR functions at Millard Refrigerated Services, overseeing a workforce of over 2,200 employees across North America. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Charles Schwab and Levi Strauss, gaining deep expertise in workforce strategy and business transformation.
Sean holds both a master’s and a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Larry Kom
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Larry Kom, MPA, PhD is a technology leader with 25 years of experience developing scalable compute infrastructure and optimized workflows through digital oversight. He founded and sold 3 startups in mobile, iGaming, and cryptocurrency. He is a digital forensics researcher, financial system auditor, software system architect, and industrial power and automation engineer. His academic focus is antifraud, internal controls, and vulnerability analysis

Jeff Taylor
Chief Information Security Officer
Jeff Taylor joined Core Scientific from People Connect, where he served as Director of Site Reliability and Dev Ops. Jeff started his career with Amazon and spent 14 years, expanding the fulfillment center network, operating and engineering upon the global retail sites and designing and launching many Amazon Web Services. He joined AWS as employee #20 and helped to grow the organization to several thousand. Jeff received many honors at Amazon, including the Amazon Inventor Award for his work on AWS and S3, as well as the Fire Extinguisher Award, for operational excellence in process and services. After Amazon, Jeff spent four years at CDK Global, leading Strategic Platform Engineering during a divestiture event and migrating mission critical aspect to the cloud. Jeff received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

Michael Bros
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy
Michael Bros has over 15 years of finance experience spanning capital markets, M&A, investment management, and corporate finance. He previously served as Director of Finance and Vice President of Early-Stage Investments at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, where he helped manage a portfolio of promising early-stage growth companies. Prior to Kayne Anderson, Michael worked in Investment Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Michael earned a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management from the University of St. Thomas.

Jon Charbonneau
Vice President, Investor Relations
Jon Charbonneau is the Vice President of Investor Relations at Core Scientific, where he oversees engagement with investors and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders. With over 15 years of experience in equity research and investor relations, Jon brings deep expertise in financial communication and market strategy.
Prior to joining Core Scientific, Jon served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Sonder Inc., where he led initiatives to enhance transparency and alignment with the investment community. Before that, he was Director of Investor Relations at Expedia Group, playing a critical role in shaping investor engagement strategies.
Earlier in his career, Jon spent nearly a decade at Cowen and Company including as Vice President of Equity Research, specializing in Communications Infrastructure. His contributions helped his research team achieve top rankings by Institutional Investor.

Carol Haines
Head of Power & Policy
Carol has nearly 20 years of experience working in the energy industry, with a strong background in energy infrastructure, deregulated markets, site selection, and economic development.
Carol was previously at FirstEnergy Corp, where she was the Director of Economic Development. She has also served as Director at FirstEnergy Solutions where she launched and led two sales and marketing teams, including four managers and a staff of 35 associates. She developed teams who consistently achieved revenue and new client acquisition targets. Carol holds a BS in Business Administration from Drexel University. She currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for two nonprofit organizations including the Autism Society of Greater Akron and Keep Akron Beautiful. She also serves on the Ohio Market Leadership Advisory Board for USGBC Ohio.

Rob Hepler
Head of Data Center Operations
Rob has over 25 years in enterprise colocation data center operations. Most notably, he served as Senior Director of Operations at Equinix, where he oversaw their Ashburn, VA operations as well as additional data centers across the East Region. During his tenure at Equinix, Rob led large scale data center projects in design and construction, capacity management, real estate, and site engineering.
Rob received his Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems and Business from Liberty University and holds a Certified Data Center Professional certification from Marist College.

Matt Tyndall
Head of Site Development
Matt Tyndall joined Core Scientific as Head of Site Development in September 2024. In this role, Matt leads the identification, qualification, and acquisition of new sites and the associated design, construction and infrastructure procurement to expand Core Scientific’s portfolio of powered digital infrastructure. Matt possesses highly relevant experience and unique insights from more than 35 years in the design and build industry, focused on data center development.
Prior to joining Core Scientific, Matt was founding partner at Advocate Management Partners providing creative design, construction, and real estate leadership in mission critical infrastructure planning, design, diligence, deployment, and capital planning. He also served as Chief Development Officer at AUBix, LLC, a multi-tenant, mission-critical data center. Matt previously served as EVP of Property Development of QTS Realty Trust for 8 years, where he was responsible for diligence, design, build, and procurement. Prior to QTS, Matt spent over 21 years as an Account Executive with Turner Construction with a focus on the Data Center vertical.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and studied Building Science at Auburn University.
